Owls and Polka Dots

Whoooo knew it was so difficult choosing a class theme? Last year I had Super Heroes and while it was fun, it was also a little blah! The year before, I had owls... So this year I've decided to do am Polka Dots theme and while searching online I found the best of both worlds- Owl and Polka Dots!
Check out this great blog for a plethora of owl/dot theme printables! Enjoy!

I'm baaaack!

As summer is quickly coming to an end I figured I'd get back into the blogging world and share all of the FREE goodies I've found on some other fabulous blogs!
Check out these great freebies! I printed and laminated iPads and iPhones for my kiddies! I plan on using these in centers for spelling word practice. I laminated so they can use a dry erase marker~~ They can also be used for ABC order practice. Must give all the credit to CINDY GILCHRIST over at Mrsgilchrist.blogspot.com- Click on this for her iPad spelling freebie Enjoy!

Fearless First!

This first photo is a view from the window in the hallway looking into my classroom!

My kids are loving the theme this year of Super Heroes, and are totally living up to it! They have become super LEARNERS!!!

We have now added more Super Heroes to the room ((pictures to follow next week)).
We have a 'Super e' character to help us remember the magic e rule- She has her own Magic e wand and everything :)

We also have Sabrina the Speller who helps us remember all of our tricky spelling words.

The newest edition is, CORE Boy! He was previously on our welcome door, but now has found a nice home soaring over our CORE bulletin board! The kid's favorite part of the theme is instead of nominating a 'star' student of the week, every Friday we vote on a HERO of the WEEK! Makes them all feel pretty special...and powerful :)

I created the Super Heroes by sketching them on poster board, painting, and outlining in permanent marker. I then got them laminated. I hope they hold up because they're a real hit!

Clutter-free Classroom

Hello Bloggers!

Decided to use this day off to do some 'digital-purguing'! Cleaning out some old documents and pictures... I came across a few photos of my classroom in the beginning of the year- I have to say, my library is my prized possession. Forever growing (and giving me a headache)! But, I have to say, thanks to my new labeling system this year, my kids are doing all the work of keeping it organized!

Check out my Library Bin labels and matching Book Labels at my TpT store, if you like what you see, don't be shy! Pass the word along!
